Try the comparison at your window

For a street-facing room

Stand where you normally sit or read, then check the view from a safe spot outside. Repeat after dark with the usual lamps on. That tells you more about evening privacy than a daytime photograph can.

For a window behind furniture

Open the window as you normally would. Note where your hand, the handle and the sash travel. Take one photo from your usual seat and another from the side to show the clearance at your measure.
